"Song for Noa Amarú"

Story
I wrote this song for my grandson, Noa Amarú. My daughter, Catarina, and Noa lived with us from Noa's birth until he was two-and-a-half years old. Every night, we would all carry him up to bed and sing 'Twinkle, twinkle little star' as we climbed the stairs to his bedroom. It was a nightly ritual and a formative one, I believe, for all of us. Then they left us to go and live on an island far, far away. It felt as though my heart had been torn from my breast and all the stars had lost their twinkle. This little song was born from all that beauty and pain. The baby talk at the end of the song is Noa himself, when he was about one year old. I recorded his early morning talky sessions on my phone. Thanks for listening and sharing!
